Mariakyrkan in the middle of Örsundsbro is Lagunda Parish's modern meeting point. There is a church service every Sunday and there are activities all week long. On Tuesdays, for example, there is a soup lunch and sometimes lectures. In Mariakyrkan you can also get in touch with the church staff. Torstuna church is from the 1790s in neoclassical style and very spacious. The population of Torstuna was large at that time and everyone had to fit in the church! The building replaced a medieval church that had been struck by lightning in the early 18th century. The altarpiece was made by Burkhard Precht, one of the best Stockholm craftsmen of the Baroque era.
