Welcome to Svea's cradle! The Fjärdhundraland originates from the medieval country of spring Fjordrund. You travel on beautiful small roads lined with rune stones, through a medieval landscape. The small churches are denser than on Gotland, and the city names are of history.
Örsundaån, today a beautifully quiet island, was on the Viking Age an important artery that provided the rich areas of Fjärdhundraland and Birka with the iron that was needed to build prosperity.
Travel slowly through Fjärdhundraland, stay often, imagine yourself on horseback instead of in Volvo. You are in another world.
