Almost all people remember flavors and meals that have left a lasting impression at some point in their lives. This is what Marloes Öhrnell from Örsundsbro has realized in her business Taste Memories. She has a great passion for everything related to historical recipes, which she collects, samples and presents. If you are curious about old food traditions and want to experience food from the past, just start botanizing among the recipes! Maybe you'll fall in love with the Tuesday soup "sluring" or a magnificent caramel cake from Hovdala Castle?
In 2023, the Taste Memories project started Global Food Culture, which aims to preserve and highlight old food traditions that have come to Sweden with food enthusiasts from around the world. Another goal is to create meetings between people born outside Sweden and local food producers, such as farmers and food artisans.
In autumn 2024 there will be two events with lectures, workshops and a market. The project is funded by the Swedish Board of Agriculture and will ultimately result in a cookbook with recipes from people born outside Sweden that will take you on a worldwide food journey.
