On the meadows around Ryssjön you can see white and black sheep walking and grazing. There are sheep of the breeds Leicester and South African Dorper from Karlberg's sheep farm.
Dorper sheep are white with black heads. They are unassuming animals that are content with meager grazing, but still have very good and tender meat. Leicester sheep have beautiful white coats that produce shiny, long wool, while producing fine meat.
The farm also has crosses between the two breeds, to preserve their unique combinations. Anna and Claes, who run the farm, are very keen that the sheep are well and in good health. The slaughter takes place at a local slaughterhouse, so that the animals do not have to travel far.
In the farm stall, you can buy lamb and mutton, cured meats, lamb and sheep skins, nappa skins as well as honey and beeswax from your own hives. The skins are available in different colors and fur lengths and are washable. They can also be used as baby skins. There are also a few other goodies that go along with the products.
