Experience both nature and culture while walking on the old church path that runs between Skekarsbo and Nora church in Tärnsjö. In the past, when everyone needed to go to the service every Sunday, there were plenty of church paths. Now the church path in Tärnsjö is one of the few that remain. The first Sunday in July, there is always church-walking with spelmansmusik.
The easily walked path is about 9 km long easy road and takes you through the tallest woods and along the tracks over the big wet North Myran. You will pass the old coal-mining place Messkog and can take a break at Österbo shelters. At Nordmyran there is a bird tower and the barbecue area Hagudden.
The span between Hagudden and the bird tower at Nordmyran is also available for those who, for example, need a wheelchair for accessibility or for those who have a pram with you.
There are good opportunities to make the trek on Kyrkstigen a multi-day adventure. You can stay overnight in the charcoal hut in Messkog and Österbo shacks also offers sleeping accommodations. The little cottage Klockartäppan, located next to the parish home in Tärnsjö, is another place to stay overnight.
