Get a sense of the old days of film at the old cinema in Örsundsbro. The wooden benches are hard, so a break is needed in the middle of the movie - a perfect time for refreshments from the small kiosk outside. The cinema may be old, but what is shown is current-day quality films that guarantee you a nice bio experience in the summer evening.
The cinema was opened in 1925 by Edvard Johansson who ran a carpentry in the same house. Films were shown until 1961 – then the competition from TV became too steep. The cinema descended into a long sleep that only ended in the late 1980s when the association Gamla Bion i Örsundsbro began restoring the premises. Nowadays, the cinema and the carpentry serve as a living museum with guided tours.
